Edinburgh First, conference secretariat

Edinburgh First, a part of the University of Edinburgh, has created a range of first class conference and meeting facilities in the heart of Scotland's capital. With a long, successful track record of high level organisational skills covering everything from transport and catering to AV equipment and accommodation, Edinburgh First can help delegates and partners make the most of the conference and this stunning city

The Conference is to be held in at the Appleton Tower, part of the University’s George Square complex of meeting spaces, which has undergone extensive refurbishments completed in October 2006. Appleton Tower, 10 minutes walk from the conference accommodation at Pollock Campus, now boasts two 300 seat lecture theatres with state of the art seating and technologically advanced Audio/Visual systems that can link electronically so that each speaker and presentation material can be seen in both theatres, with audio interaction between them. Audiovisual facilities include dual video/data projection, PRS Audience Response systems, wireless networks and DVD/VCR replay and are controlled via a Touchscreen Control Panel and Preview Monitor which ensures simplicity of operation. Lecture theatres comply with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act and provide accessible presentation desks and touchscreens, writing tablets, electrically operated writing boards, induction loops, laser pointers and wireless microphones.

The main concourse provides 560 square metres at the very heart of the conference for poster displays and exhibitions and includes a café.

Reasonably-priced accommodation of en-suite single and double rooms at the 3-star rated Chancellors Court and 2-star rated Holland House is available at nearby Pollock Campus.

Make your plans now to attend this exciting conference and take the opportunity to discover and enjoy summertime in Edinburgh and Scotland!
